Constraints on the nature and evolution of the volcanic fields of the Andahua Group, Central Volcanic Zone, southern Peru

The Andahua Group is a distinct cluster of typically monogenetic volcanoes located in the northernmost part Central Volcanic Zone Andes, characterized by small-volume lava domes and scoria cones. Seven volcanic clusters have been distinguished. Using satellite imagery, geological mapping, fieldwork, we found total 103 domes, 43 cones, 3 small composite volcanoes. Most are but 9 were formed multiple eruptions. Petrogenetic models developed for magma evolution Group. They show local crustal influence on magmas generated, possible controls pathway to surface, potential segregation. Local compositional variation rocks inferred strong that ascends through thick continental crust. Assimilation contamination deeply seated granitoids Arequipa Paracas massifs also play role final magmatic products. Future activity with gas emissions from may cause hazardous conditions tourists.
